Badminton Three Day Event

We went to Badminton this morning for the briefing meeting which is where all the volunteer fence judges, stewards, etc., are reminded about  their roles for Cross Country day - which is next Saturday.  It's always lovely to be in the park when there are so few people about.  Ivy had a good time running about!  

In the distance you can see the red and white of the main grandstand where the cross country riders start on their way around the course and where they finish.  It's also where the Dressage takes place on Thursday and Friday and where the Show Jumping takes place next Sunday.  That's always very exciting because that decides who this year's winner will be.

Mr Sk has been stewarding there since about 1994 so he knows the ropes, so to speak, but it was a sobering sign of the times today that we were informed of the procedures everyone needs to be aware of concerning how to deal with protestors and demonstrators who might show up and disrupt proceedings. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen.
