Before The Rain

We set off from home in the sunny Wye Valley for the half hour drive to Chepstow (South Wales, UK) to cycle across the old Severn Crossing (M48) bridge into England, and along New Passage and the newly completed flood defence path to Avonmouth where we turned back.

We stopped at Shirley's cafe in Severn Beach for a cuppa and whilst there the heavens opened. By the time we'd cycled the nine miles back to our car we were thoroughly soaked. A total of about 19 miles.
