St Cadoc's, Trevethin

Within us there is someone who knows everything, wills everything, does everything better than we ourselves.”
Hermann Hesse
After a morning scanning twenty-year-old transparencies I headed off to Trevethin for the heritage day at St Cadoc’s Church. I think the last time I was here my niece was getting married. Incredible contrast in the weather from the last few days, hot in the sunshine with deep blue skies and beautiful white clouds. Warm welcome from the stallholders and GFHS members who were there to offer advice on family history. Fortified by my tea and chocolate cake I scrambled up the spiral stone stairs hanging on to the twisted rope ‘handrail’ to have a look at the bells in the tower and get a better view of the church from the balcony. Headed back home just after 3pm for an hour or two reading in the garden, jumper discarded in the sun trap on the patio. Then an evening of snooker, watching not playing, to round off the day.
