Seeing Beyond Looking

Back from England

Hello again!  I haven't yet downloaded my holiday photos, but I took this one today of a new book bought on holiday and some Fortnum and Mason green tea  bought at the airport.

A slightly strange 'in-between' day of six marvellous days in my home country and back to routine tomorrow!

Honey Cat was very well looked after by a lovely cat-sitter who sent me photos and amusing videos and a neighbour in my building who popped in towards the evening for games and company!

England was just lovely: three days in London to visit our favourite things. We went up The Shard, all 69 floors to see an extensive view all around of the city. It was so lovely to see Big Ben looking so clean and elegant and we walked across Tower Bridge (my favourite). We also visited Covent Garden. We had three days of sunshine and blue skies.

Musical: The Lion King. It was just as marvellous as the first time I saw it! It was my daughter's first time and my son's second!

Wonderful meals out: Thai, Indian and Greek! Very expensive! I notice how the prices have gone up!

Then we went to a small Cotswold town called Moreton-in-Marsh where my son had rented a charming cottage in a very quiet road next to the church. There were Bluebells, Lily-of-the-Valley and Magnolia (just finishing), in the garden.  We did our own cooking, each one of us taking it in turn!

From Moreton, we went to visit my father's and grandparents' graves in a nearby village. I found a nice potted plant with Impatiens in my father's favourite colour: red!

The weather started to get dull with some rain. On our last day, we did an 8-hour mini bus tour in and around scenic countryside and visiting several Cotsworld towns.

I love the friendliness of the British people and the easy contact and warmth. I miss that here!
