Dandelions
The common dandelion is well known for its yellow flower heads that turn into round balls of many silver-tufted fruits that disperse in the wind. These balls are called "clocks" in both British and American English. The name "blowball" is also used.
Dandelion clocks are so delicate: the seeds can be released by just a puff of breath. It's traditional to make a wish as the seeds float away and some say that you can tell the time by counting the number of breaths it takes to blow them all away (how the dandelion'clock' gets its name!).
So . . . If I blew on them in one big puff - what time would they tell ???
