Doubly Blessed!!
Yesterday began with partly cloudy skies and a promise of more rain later in the day to add to what we had already received overnight, but we were safe and cozy in the warmth of fellowship as we began our service with a congregational song joining hearts and voices in praise to God. That song was followed by the welcome by Chris, which preceded a beautiful and triumphant presentation by the choir, orchestra and all our talented accompanists of "Behold The Lamb/Jesus Paid It All". After the congregation had joined in some more songs of worship and praise, Pastor Wes took us back into Ephesians 1 to verses 15-19 to remind us that if we have accepted Jesus as our Saviour, the Holy Spirit that dwells within us is at work to help us continue to grow and mature spiritually. We already have all the tools we need to do the task that He has given us, but we need to know what tools God has gifted us with and how best to use them to accomplish the ultimate task of pointing people to Him for life, salvation and meaning in this life. Pastor Wes had much more to say about all this which you can see in the Live-stream. At the end of the morning service, Pastor Wes also reminded us about the special gathering tonight to pray over our church, our town, all levels of government and all the people involved, because we live in a broken world at a turbulent time and we need to have wisdom and discernment to make Godly choices........The sunset view as we were leaving the prayer gathering and the shot that I was able to get of our faithful ASL interpreter, Sandy, from the morning service were special blessings for me on this doubly blessed day!
