Magic festival

It's the annual Magic Festival in Edinburgh. Tonight we saw a show at Lauriston Castle, a stately home run by the National Trust. The setting was superb, and the magic was - eh, magical.

In this room (we moved around the castle), an illusionist dragged two unsuspecting members of the audience up to take part. In this case, my daughter and her pal. Daughter is the one who looks like she's texting on her mobile - she's actually concentrating all her psychic energies on the illusionist's pocket watch. After a bit of hocus pocus and jigerypokery, both girls wrote the same number on a blackboard.

Told this way, it doesn't sound very interesting. Or even worth missing Coronation Street for. But it fooled us, and left us wondering how it was done.
