River Gannel at low tide
I managed to take a rather similar picture to the one I posted on 2 April with horses from the local stable being exercised along the banks of the River Gannel at low tide. It looks much greener now! We walked further this time, down one bank of the river to Crantock Beach, across the causeway which is only possible at the lowest tides, back up the other bank, and through Trenance Gardens (extra). Trenance Cottages, which are now a lovely heritage museum, are the last remaining cottages (c.1850) that belonged to the once-thriving shipbuilding industry along the banks of the River Gannel before it silted up.
