Wet and drippy
Today as it was a bank holiday it rained all day, which seems to be the norm for a bank holiday! I had a busy morning at home with breakfast and washing up and then cleaned the kitchen floors. It was raining so much I did not join Gavin when he took Xena out for a walk, which she did not really enjoy when it is raining.
Later I went into the village to get some groceries and then we decided to have a light lunch at our favourite café, there was a queue outside the door and so we stood for about 25 minutes in the rain, luckily I had an umbrella. The lunch was very good so the wait was worth it!
Anna left this afternoon to go back to Cambridge. It's a longer journey than usual by train as there is a replacement bus service on the Cambridge line. Meriel has just left now, also by train. Luke and Adam are staying home tonight as Luke, Adam and Gavin are all playing golf tomorrow in a Skinners competition, and the golf course where it is held is near to our home. Tommy is arriving back from Norfolk soon so it will be nice for the three brothers to spend some time together tonight.
There was no opportunity to take photos in the rain that fell all day, but later this afternoon it stopped raining and so I went into the garden where I photographed this very wet azalea.
Such a pity the weather was not good today - in Norfolk Tommy had warm weather and sunshine all day! However, the forecast for this week is like summer with sunny weather and temperatures up to 22C.
There is a train strike all week, Tommy will have a problem getting to work tomorrow. I am fed up with these train strikes!
