Spring, Spring, Spring
I thought I might be too early for the cowslips on Gunnerton Fell, but as you can see, they are in full bloom. The primroses are still lovely too.
I nearly tripped over my first early purple orchid of the year. It was almost my blip, but cowslips were Mum’s favourite wildflowers, so they won!
I was chased home early by the rain!
Margret’s twin brother is visiting from Germany. They had their 87th birthday last week. I was able to see them both this afternoon.
The Forum Cinema screened a free film, That They May face the Rising Sun, for members. The cinema was nearly full. I loved the film. Described as: a delicate, meditative exploration of ritual, community bonds, and the question of how best to live.
The story is slow, as we see a community over the corse of a year through the eyes of an incoming couple from London. The cinematography is exquisite. (I even coped with a long scene at the wake of a man. We see him being laid out. So sensitively done.)
Liz, Nick and I found that Café Muro was open and we ate there. It was a good end to the day.
