Wilding Park- Centre of Tennis Excellence

This is Wilding Park today. It was destroyed by the earthquakes almost 3 years ago, and it has taken this long to sort out insurance issues and to design a plan for the future. A very sad sight particularly as we played the week of the earthquakes when the complex was at its utmost best as it was hosting the world championship masters tournament and everything had been renovated and was at its smartest. It was a terrible day for the people who travelled from all over the world to play in that tournament to have to live through. Thankfully none of the them were injured although they couldn't return to their inner city accommodation and retrieve belongings, some of them never getting them back and some 6 months or more later. A very strange tennis tale...
