Pelecanus conspicillatus

That is the formal Latin name for the Australian Pelican - a big bird, up to 1.8 metres long and with an immense wingspan. For such a huge bird they are elegant and graceful in the air.
This one was foraging and also eyeballing the fishermen in Wollongong harbour.
A wonderful eye, and I just love his flowing white and black plumes. Handsome!
