Q is for Quire Stalls…

Today was a close shave. I really didn’t feel well and had resigned myself to having to give up the alphabet challenge because I just couldn’t face walking down to town. By late morning I felt a little better so wandered down to the Town Church to take a few pics but without giving a thought to the letter Q. Back home I had a dig around and discovered that the old spelling of choir was quire and indeed it explains the pronounciation of the word.
Phew; that was a close shave!
