Slow progress

How long does it take to build a block of student accommodation?  Well in the case of this block at the bottom of the Brae, nearly 3 years and it's not finished yet.  The first block has been occupied since Sept 23, so the students are living in a middle site. And the locals are still having to put up with the disturbance, noise and traffic diversions.  Whole housing developments have been built in this time.

I swam this morning.  As usual on a Tuesday the pool was very quiet and very cold.  Then home to do some admin stuff about KL, the odd email and of course yet more phone call to the bank.  The Bank of Scotland could not make this more difficult if they tried.  Next was seeing if I could sot the problem in the two front radiators.  Nice man at Hive tested some stuff and gave me some advice.  I leave it for another day to work through that.

That was followed by looking out, photographing and sending photos take a quarter of a century at the Gordon Gaitherin and of course it also involved looking at other family photos form the same period.  Who were that happy couple?

By lunchtime I was stir crazy so decided to go across to Craigleith to get the shed paint.  Went via the PO to return the shoes about which there have been many emails and Sainsbury's for some food and then took an odd route to the West End.  I obeyed my sat nav - mistake.  Although  went for Cuprinol I succumbed to the plants on show outside and bought (quite) a few trays.  I used to like Homebase but it's a shadow of its former self.

Came back (sat nav and me agreeing) via the Manor to drop off some cash to Mum and then home to have the last of my chicken curries and send a few more emails.

Outside it has been cloudy and fairly chilly with a hint of rain.  This weather is really getting me down.

Now I'm going to try stay awake and watch some more 'Astrid: Murder in Paris'.
