When in Rome
You might as well chuck all your money in the Trevi fountain, because some crook will get it somehow or other.
It was spectacular, beautiful etc.etc. We got inside the colliseum, ate pizza, did the fountain thing, followed nuns to the Vatican on the bus and walked a lot and so on, but we were left with a bitter taste in our mouth as the taxi drivers tried (and succeeded the first time anyway) to scam us. It was with some relief we got back to Civitavecchia for a last chat with lovely Italians, real ones, who have a joke and serve you excellent coffee and ice cream for just a couple of Euros and wave goodbye. We were sad to put out Italian phrase book away, it was a blast.
