Wainman's Pinnacle

After the rather disappointing weather we have had recently, today turned out to be a perfect day for walking.
Today's walk encompassed fabulous views of the Aire Valley and also took in Lund's tower, and Wainman's pinnacle. This shot was taken from the top of Lund's tower looking towards the pinnacle. Straight ahead is the village of Cowling.

Lund’s Tower was built by James Lund of Malsis Hall and was thought to have been built for his daughter or possibly for Queen Victoria's Jubilee.
Wainman's Pinacle (also known as Cowling pinnacle) was built by Richard Wainman of Carr Head Hall to commemorate the defeat of Napoleon in 1815.
The shot in the extra show the tower on the left and the pinnacle to the right.
The towers are known locally as the Salt and Pepper pots.

It is a lovely area which is slightly off the beaten track as we didn't pass any other other walkers at all.

I have subsequently found an almost identical walk to the one we did here.
