Horrific death

The title both is a song by one of my favourite bands, Lengsel and describes quite well what is happening in the photo. The beetle is motionless, attacked by a couple of furious ants. I'd imagine that with such a thick shell the beetle must bear with ants' bites and acid sprays quite long before it dies.

You wouldn't expect anything or anyone in similar situation to make it. Rodney did survive a similar trouble, though:)
