A long overdue visit .......
...... to the new Stockingfield Bridge which crosses the Forth and Clyde Canal.
The Beithir, commissioned by Scottish Canals, is one of the family of Scottish mythological creatures which include the Kelpies at Falkirk.
The Beithir is a 'lightening serpent' and is most often seen in summer evenings during storms. Bella the Beithir's body will be mosaiced with scales made by local communities and beyond.
There is still a very long way to go before the decoration in complete.
It was a lovely morning for a walk along by the canal .... dodging the cyclists was the main problem!
