Castell Foel-Allt
A long hot twelve mile circular walk today (without the spaniel). Starting from Llanddewi-yn-Hwytyn I went up over Litton Hill and the trig point on Llan-fawr, down to St Michael's church at Cascob, and back via the Bryn Glas (1402) battlefield site and the wonderful old St Mary's church at Pilleth. The latter has a Holy well with steps leading down into an immersion tank which might make a future blip. Today I've chosen the remains of the 11th century motte and bailey Castell Foel-Allt, a very picturesque spot situated on a bend in the river Lugg and topped with bluebells.
