Joyce

Sadly, just before going to bed last night , I got a text to say Joyce  had passed away .

I truly will miss her. We have been friends since we moved here. Her granddaughter is the same age as Andrew and we met at playgroup. Our friendship continued until now and we  thoroughly enjoyed each other’s company. She always came over for a cuppa and a chat until she became less mobile. After that I popped in to see her regularly. If I was out walking Chloe and passed by her house I always waved in. During Covid I stood outside  her window and we had conversations over the phone.

Our chats were varied and funny. Joyce was interested in everything and had a great memory. At 95 she really was marvellous. 

I always ended my visit with a hug. Then as I left she would wave out the window until I was out of sight. Little did we know , a few weeks ago,  that would be the last time we would see each other.
