Coo

One of the nice things about Cambridge is that, in the summer, our public green spaces – including those very close to the city centre – play host to herds of cows. This one is on Stourbridge Common, just to the north of the city and part of the River Cam's flood plain. The common used to be home to Stourbridge Fair, which was first held in 1211 and was, at its peak, the biggest fair in Europe.

The cows will be here all summer, munching their way through tonnes of grass nourished by the waters of the Cam – until one fateful day some time in October, when they get taken away :(
