It is Friday

Last night I got waylaid by the Dodo en route to the jazz. It was the launch of an international exhibition and I have never been in the presence of so many Dodos and experts on Dodos. It included a talk by Karl Jones, the Director of conservation in the Mauritus islands. Yes Jones was the clue - he was born in Llandovery not far from Llandeilo where I was born!

Afterwards there was a celebration buffet with champagne followed by an auction which included Dodo walking sticks, Dodo sketches etc. I bought 1 1/2 hour session of the Alexander Technique to get back into shape - yes it will take more than that!!

So by the time I got to the jazz it was almost half time and I enjoyed a beer, caught up with some friends and did this sketch of Alan Beecham in the second half. Alan usually plays keyboard but last night he was on trumpet and mallaphonium - what incredible talent.

The group was called the Racketeers with Bruce Caraffin on reeds, Roy Cansdale on bass and Matt Caw on drums

And of course great to have Ted back
