Sand dance

Apparently there were some pretty big frosts overnight over parts of the South Island - fortunately for me, not where I was.  It was definitely cool - as to be expected at this time of the year - but that's as bad as it got.  Enjoyed a very relaxed morning wave watching from above the beach.......a great way to see the patterns that the receding waves make as they dance with the sand.  An otherwise ho-hum day of driving and stopping here and there.  Stopping at a park-over-property just north of Christchurch tonight, just a 10 or 15 minute drive to where I'm heading tomorrow.  Didn't arrive quite early enough to explore the Travis Wetlands that are virtually next door to tomorrow's venue but will definitely aim to spend some time looking around there.......probably Monday.
