Wimbledon 2009

I have been watching the All England Tennis Championships at Wimbledon on TV every year for the past 40 years and have never before visited the Tournament. Today was the day!

Of course queueing for more than three and a half hours wasn't good and the number of people there was much greater due to the match on centre court featuring Andy Murray.

When I eventually got to see some live tennis (after the only rain the tournament has had so far this year!) all I saw was two sets of mixed doubles. This is Cara Black in full swing playing with her doubles partner Leander Paes. It was hard to concentrate on the match as the cheers from Centre court for the Murray match could be heard everywhere and then of course there were the thousands of people on the hill viewing the match on the large screen. They were cheering even louder. When we left the doubles to see the Murray match on the screen there was no space left to get any real view of the screen. Next time I need to turn up with an advance ticket. No more 3+ hours queueing for me!
