The Calf
We ventured over to uncharted ( by us) territories the other side of the M6 today to the Howgills which we always think look wonderful from the motorway as we drive up to Keswick.
We found a walk up Cautley Spout, highest cascade in England apparently.
The first bit was easy, the path up past the waterfall was steep and hard work. The highest point is “The Calf” where this trig point is . You can see Morecambe bay in the distance.
Then we seemed to have an endless walk down.
Extra is a phone long exposure of part of the waterfall.
We met very few people even on such a lovely day as today when I was wearing a t shirt and no sweater for the first time this year!
