Golden-ringed Dragonfly

We were walking today; we walked the Lendrick Loop, one of my favourite walks from Brig o'Turk, climbing up above Loch Venacher and along a high path towards Loch Achray, and coming down at the Finglass reservoir, from there walking back to Brig o'Turk via The Mires.  From our highest point we could see Lochs Venacher, Drunkie and Achray, with fine views towards Ben Venue also.

The weather was glorious, a little wind to keep us cool, and wonderful sunshine.  We had our lunch looking down on the wonderful lochs, and there was no one in the world but us.

Finished with a drink in the Byre Inn before travelling home.

Was fortunate to spot this dragonfly, and have identified it as a Golden-ringed Dragonfly.
