Odenwald, here with Castle Reichenberg
Sons P and R and I had a lovely walk today in the Odenwald. The weather was fine, sunny and not too hot.
We walked approximately 15km and saw a lot of interesting things (and of course nature). Where we walked there were left-overs of pits, with big signs explaining what still could be seen. Large holes in the earth, in the past entrances of shafts, a Decauville wagon on rails on the remains of a track bed, etc. etc.
This part of the Odenwald was very quiet, hardly any machine could be heard. We enjoyed it.
My blip entry shows the valley of the Osterbach, a tributary of the Gersprenz. The castle Reichenberg (in Reichelsheim) can be seen in the distance.
