Outside the Church

Street photography is often disconcerting, rarely easy on the eye, and much as I'd like everything I see through my lens to be beautiful, joyful and happy, I know that reality is frequently quite different. Take this scene outside Trinity Church in Leeds, currently under renovation. On the left the workers in their jeans and hi-vis jackets are enjoying their break, chatting, laughing, snacking, and generally relaxing, while on the right the wine drinkers sit morosely, their little dogs close by and a hat conveniently placed on the pavement ready to receive coins from generous passers-by.
