Peregrine Falcon
We took a walk along the beach from Rosemarkie past the Peregrine nest we spotted last year but there was no sign of the birds; we must go back earlier next year to see them in the nest.
However, on our way back there was a lot of screaching from the cliff tops and we witnessed the adult falcon emerge from a tree with what looked like a chick, it was then chased by the juvenile Peregrine until it handed over the 'meal' mid-air!
At this point I managed to get my camera out and get a shot of the individuals; the shots of the young bird are not great, but you can make out the shape of the small bird/chick and this is an almighty crop of the adult.
Cruel, but interesting!
