Aurora Borealis...and a peeping New Moon

..... last Night I was unable to sleep and peeped out of the Kitchen Windows... saw this.... thought it's lights from our town's Festival.... After I posted the Pic... my Son sent me one in the Extra..taken 2 hrs later in Basel....


Green lights are visible due to interaction with Oxygen in the higher atmospheric Layers... where as Red or Violet lights are due to Nitrogen interaction. 

Aurora Borealis will be between 10.5-12.5.24, visible in Switzerland .....so have fun seeking the Lights..
