Vote: Wullie or the Minx?
At SURFs conference today, as ever, fascinating, challenging, interesting & inspiring. And Dundee wins everything. Dundee City Council have got this knack of showcasing their city, doing it justice, and leaving the room stunned by the awesomeness of Dundee. Check out We Dundee for a dose of creative, cultural, civic pride.
SURF conferences usually involve electronic voting, or some such. We were encouraged to wave the 'Wullie' side of the lollipop masks if we agreed with what was being said and 'the Minx' if we didn't (yes I brought mine home). We liked this. It continued to be used by various tables during the voting on the results of the 'make a collage representing creative regeneration' task (I would've been satisfied with some Dundee images, or the Stove in Dumfries, or Riverside Inverclyde & the Beacon, or Irvine Bay & WASPS & Harbour Arts Centre....). A downright fun day. Which finished promptly at 3.30pm, since it was sunny, Friday & Andy's playing.
Wine with my friend & colleague at an old Scottish Arts Council haunt near Haymarket, Scottish Parliament Champagne with my flatmate & ex-flatmate (now landlady) & Aperol Spritz + pizza for the tennis. All that's left for today is Mon Andy!
