Saturday Six

Well what a night last night into the wee small hours of the morning!

Went out to see if could see the northern lights from the garden, could only get a light green tinge as was still twilight light bright with long exposure picking up light.

Then sat enjoyed others' pics on social media. So grateful to see as then I went back out to the back garden, torch in one hand camera phone in the other. Managed to see the colours just above the house. Was so magical!!!

I saw the northern lights as a kid when at a guide camp in Orkney but only remember blues / greens. Seen rarely since in other parts of Scotland as very faded colours.

Could not see much with naked eye but the phonecamera picked up the colours. I was 'Oh wowing' a lot - surprised the neighbours didn't come out to see what I was looking at.

If I had gone down the shore or to one of the parks the colour of lights would have been better but pretty impressive to see from the garden.
