Aurora australis...

...early this evening. 


There have been some amazing images locally from last night's display. Utterly gobsmacking. It was predicted to start dancing just after dusk - we waited over 2 hours at North Mole and really couldn't see much with the naked eye. However, my main image is from the fruitfone at 10sec exposure. I will add one from my "proper" camera but I'm obviously a duffer when using that ;-))

While I was waiting, I took a few LE of the lighthouse ( there was a bloke having a twinkle who got a shock when he saw me with the camera..)

If I am awake at 5am I shall think about venturing out and looking south again...I said "think"
