A view from Jeanneb

Welcoming committee!

By the neighbours!
There were actually 10 of these little Hebridean sheep on the road, these were the back markers and we’d already passed two white ones, one at either side, as soon as we turned into the single track beach road. A lovely welcome to our wee hoose ( hidden in the trees) for the next week as was the beautiful weather.
The mountain you can see is Suilven, part of the Assynt range, familiar to some from the film Edie. Our house view is of the Coigach range seen in the bottom left extra with Stac Pollaidh in the middle and the beach just visible below.

Been hot all day, you can see Chris overlooking the falls this morning across from our hotel before going into breakfast.
We drove above Loch Tay at the base of the Ben Lawer Range to Aberfeldy for some fuel. The loch was beautifully glassy again but there was no where to stop, the banks alongside the riad were full of bluebells.
We managed to miss the turning in Kenmore for Karelia House a fabric and yarn shop recommended to me by blipper Linda59. Had a good look around, lots of goodies to see and lots of people doing a sewing course and then had a coffee (also purchased an Empire biscuit which we’ve been seeing everywhere - I’ll be trying that later) the sat nav took us from there to Tummel Bridge and up a steep narrow single track road to the A9. A shame we didn’t go back the way we came as we had passed through a village called Dull, it had a sign to say it was twinned with Boring in Oregon USA!

Pit stop in Inverness for some shopping, it was 26 degrees and they’ve moved M & S! - getting the shopping there meant we wouldn’t need to go to a Tesco in Ullapool but as we approached we could see a large, masted yacht moored in the bay. We stopped for a closer look and think it might be the one we saw two years ago moored outside Lochinver.
They’ve broadened the pedestrian area of Shore Street in Ullapool since our last visit and there was a Lugger - fest going on with the Cornish Marine Association!

Then we arrived at last to this lovely bunch. There were signs on the road up for a Yellow warning for heavy rain (we also saw one for ice which we think might have been accidentally left on!) 22 degrees here at 6.30 pm.
We’re here now having had three lovely but busy days and we can do whatever we please whenever we please whatever the weather chooses to do.

First thing, after a cuppa, is to go to the beach!

We had a second welcome when we got out of the car, a cuckoo, two days in a row. Hope we see it, we have before here as there are so few trees.
