3421. Flowers in the lounge….
It’s been a pretty full on day today…took a long walk with my youngest this morning to get some food shopping then met the rest of the family for lunch in the pub as usual. Back home now and relaxing…we had been watching the Tattooist of Auschwitz on Now TV but we’ve switched it off after 3 episodes as it just doesn’t seem to be in any way accurately depicting what went on there according to verified accounts. My hubby did a bit of research and discovered an article by archivists from Auschwitz itself, debunking most of the story as it was originally written. Some of the incidents did indeed occur but not as they were depicted in the Netflix series. Furthermore there were really glaring issues like the amount of free time that the main character seemed to have and also the fact that women in the women’s camp were not tattooed by men. It’s so disappointing that such a powerful story wasn’t told as it happened and I’m not sure if it’s the producers at fault or the original writer of the story which is apparently based on fact from an Auschwitz survivor. We won’t bother to watch the rest as it just doesn’t add up.
I hadn’t taken any other photos today so I thought I’d photograph the flowers on our dining table in the lounge.
