Youth Band...

...at the farmers' market. They were playing popular music and they were good! One never knows what one will find here on a Saturday morning. They had chairs set up and I was happy to sit in one for a few minutes. There was another section of mainly drums, but I couldn't get a good shot of them from my vantage point.

We came home with kielbasa sausages, fava beans, enchiladas, delicious flaky croissants and monkey bread (pull apart cinnamon rolls.) flowers and a pair of earrings made of 'stick pearls'...very unusual . Maybe I'll post a picture of them on a slow day. the stone fruits are coming although they're still pretty hard but we did get some delicious apricots and cherries. There's a good strawberry stand down the road so we'll probably go there, though a basket rarely makes it home so we have to get at least two.

We had just enough time to put away our groceries before leaving again to go to Beltane Ranch for a pick up party for our spring wine choices. They were serving pizza and Ceasar salad, and giving tastes of several different wines. This was scheduled for last Saturday but postponed it a week when the temperatures dropped precipitously, winter returned for a day and it rained heavily. Perhaps because of the postponement there were fewer people than usual and perhaps that is why they were offering very generous pours of a very nice 'blush' rosé. It was appropriate as it's been another very warm day. We chatted with friends, admired Wally the Wooly Weed Eater's recent shearing and the handsome chickens that were roaming around the lawn. It was hard to get a good picture on the way out, but I've put a bad one of two Texas Longhorns resting in the tall grass in extras.

The changes in the weather have brought about changes in the grass which is rapidly turning yellow. Cal Fire has moved forward the date for getting fields mowed which further yellows the remaining grass.
