Green Cleugh walk
A second Saturday stroll day with marvelous weather. Warm enough for short sleeves, hazy sunshine, a light breeze, no midges yet ..
Out to the end of the 44 bus line. Car transport to the Threipmuir resevoir then through the cutting to Loganlea (my blip). Route (Andrew's blip). The paths and the splendid beech wood on the way in @lovenature 's blip. My extra has a sheep and a lamb and the gorse flowering.
Bird list : sandmartins making nests in the stream bank, a pair of pied wagtails collecting flies on the river stones. Heard but did not see a skylark. A distant buzzard; someone reported hearing a cuckoo.
Came back into town by car to Bruntsfield, 36 bus across to Charlotte Square then picked up a newspaper on the way to the New Town.
