Smudge Pots

We've experienced quite a bit of rain of late. Nothing unusual about that, it is the rainy season here in Florida. With the rain, of course, come the Mosquitos! Just part of the Natural World that we, try as we might, have not been able to successfully mold to our wishes.

So out come the sprays and foggers and protective clothing and these guys. Smudge Pots, or more accurately... Smudge Lanterns. They stand, their feet stuck firmly in the ground, during the 'non-mosquito' part of the year...just quietly waiting for summer, forgotten, just waiting.

"Where are those Lanterns? Do we have any Citronella Oil from last year?" They are called up, like tall tin soldiers, no longer the forgotten ones, to help protect us from the 'Buzzing Hoards'...and they do!
