Peter Bulger Wetlands

It’s not entirely abandoned; occasionally the council mows the more accessible parts but the whole area is fenced off. It’s a haven for water birds, especially ibis. That might change if they go ahead with an upgrade that includes paths and a boardwalk.

I looked up Peter Bulger - a local environmentalist who died in 2013. The wetlands have only recently been named for him. Actually, wetlands is new, too. I’ve always known it as a drainage pond.
