Why/How?

     I ran out of readable Books so started on this "antique" Paperback "The Tartan Pimpernel" by Donald Caskie it promises to be a "War story".
     Out of curiosity I've just been to look it up; it seems to be as much/more Autobiography See:-

"A Church of Scotland minister, nicknamed the "Tartan Pimpernel", has been honoured in France.
Rev Dr Donald Caskie helped thousands of prisoners of war escape a hilltop fort during World War Two.
He and his French Resistance colleagues masterminded the rescue of RAF personnel under the noses of German soldiers through a sewer system at Fort de la Revère in 1942.
A memorial plaque marking his work has been unveiled at the fort near Nice.
Dr Caskie helped to bring 36 of the rescued men back to Britain in a submarine."

     Whence cometh the Why/how?  Well, some time ago I Blipped a set of Bookworm tracks through a paperback.  
The "why"? - Why couldn't/didn't the adult escape?
The "how"? - How did it get there, with no discernible tracks through the pages?
     Pretty fair macro? For an Android phone; which A. N. Other, online tore to shreds as "rubbish" recently.
