False acacia

Ant eruption added. After my 5k/45 minute walk I went to plant cannellini beans. A field maple log that I’ve left in place for years - it’s a steep climb up to the house - was erupting with wood (?) ants, many with wings. The winged ones were taking off for pastures or logs new. T was frantic but ten minutes later not an ant to be seen. Presumably the much smaller unwinged ones went back to the colony.

It was very hot in the sun planting the beans. Now having leisurely lunch with the Giro D’Italia and GP Moto race in France.

The sun continues to shine in a peerless blue sky.
