Kingdom parkrun
We rose early to do Kingdom parkrun which is near Penshurst. We had a surprising welcome by a very friendly and efficient car park marshal who arranged the cars like tetra. A 3 lap parkrun with a good path, a washing machine bend at the bottom but most memorable was the inclines. Downhill initially with some congestion, but second half was a long, steep incline, which seemed to last forever. Third time up the slope was really challenging, but I persevered and was delighted to continue running for the whole route. My official time was 33:59.
After the run we enjoyed a tasty brunch then had a walk round Kingdom, enjoying the views. We stopped on the way home to walk round Penshurst, a delightful village with several Tudor houses and a huge stately home and grounds, Penshurst Place.
Spent the afternoon in the garden at Maidstone; clearing weeds, mowing and sorting out the patio ready for prospective buyers.
