Large Red Damselfly

We only finished building our small garden pond a few weeks ago and already it is attracting wildlife.

This damsel fly was very interested in it and spent a long time flitting between two plants.   I think it is a male so he was probably waiting for a ladyfriend.

I thought I was the only person who had failed to see the Aurora on Friday.   I went to bed when Jane went off to the lake and got some cracking shots.

I was hoping to catch it last night but it failed to appear.  they say it may appear again tonight but cloud is forecast.  Its clear, hot and sunny at present
