Wildflowers and ice cream
A very hazy start to the day in the south of the Isle of Man, but we drove to Douglas to do a big food shop, so it didn't really matter!
After lunch in the garden we drove down the coast to Port St Mary, a traditional seaside resort with a long promenade of Victorian houses - my extra today - but it seemed rather faded and although we followed a walk along the coast above the beach we didn't stay long.
We carried on to the southern tip where a cafe sits overlooking the Calf of Man, the island just off the tip of the IOM, and enjoyed ice-creams in the gentle sunshine. The open grassland in front of us was a sea of Spring Squill, Scilla verna, my Blip today. Then back to the house for a cuppa in the garden.
Quote of the Day: 'What a lonely place it would be to have a world without wildflowers.' - Roland R. Kemler.
