Coming off Glaramara
I'm getting close to the end of the Wainwright Challenge - with only 15 fells left, and almost £2,000 raised for my two charities.
Today we did the last "local" walk - Rosthwaite Fell (Bessyboot), Glaramara, and Allen Crags- which Deb decided to not climb, but just wait at the bottom for me to return - (though we still had to climb Glaramara on the return journey - so effectively did it twice). Now 12 to go.
Covered 12 miles and about 3,700 feet of climbing in what we thought (from the route) looked a medium walk. We both agreed that we've never been so exhausted at the end of a walk as we were after this one. And that includes Snowdon, walking in the Dolomites etc. It's just a really technical walk, with difficult, really uneven paths. Despite Kinesiology tape, my knees were suffering at the end. Never been so pleased to flop into the car at the end.
