Loch Morlich

I handed over Islay dog to Susan and Ewan and made an early start for Aviemore, driving to Perth and catching the fast bus up the terrible A9. My aim was to recce a walking I’m leading for the Glasgow Ramblers weekend away later in the year. Mission accomplished, the local bus to Glemore, the short circuit around Loch Morlich and back to Aviemore via the Logging Trail. A straightforward gentle 9 miles or so with a beach stop for lunch. After such glorious walking in the Trossachs it felt a little pedestrian.

The buses are remarkably frequent, even on a Sunday between Perth and Aviemore and I had no more than 10 minutes to wait in both directions. Staying in Perth tonight using up some “left over from work” points at the Holiday Inn Express.
