The City That Bombed Itself
On This Day In History
1985: A raid is set for MOVE headquarters
Quote Of The Day
"They were bombed, and burned alive ..... and now you wanna keep their bones."
(Mike Africa, Jr.)
That time a police helicopter dropped two bombs on MOVE headquarters, the fire from which killed eleven members of the Africa family (six adults and five children) and destroyed 65 homes in the neighbourhood. The victims' bones were later discovered at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology where they were being used as part of an online forensic court case study.
