Friends (1)

An evening out with old friends, celebrating Dave and Lucy's wedding and Lucy's 70th. Both took place in the winter, but May was a much better choice for a celebration. 
D and L have been together for decades.  Getting married hasn't felt like a priority, till now: yes, there are thoughts about retirement, pensions, security etc - but really not just that, this was a joyful celebration of their life together.   Their daughter Sophie and her partner Max are friends with Josh and Ruth, and their grandsons are a similar age to ours.  Dave is also one of the friends in the little music trio that Richard leads, so there are many different threads of connection.
It was a lovely, relaxed evening in a big pub on the western edge of Sheffield. I'd taken my camera, both to capture a few images of friends, but also with thoughts of looking out for any repeat Northern Lights sightings (have completely missed that boat on Friday evening). It was cloudy as we left the pub though, so no luck. But I have really enjoyed seeing all the images from Friday, both here and in other online places.
