Wall With Wisteria
We’re back to our regular Summer Sunday routine of a swim at the pool after breakfast, after which we got some more planting done in the garden.
Tess then decided she was going to sweep the winter debris off the flat roof over the kitchen, which involves climbing out of our bedroom window on to it. Being only 5 feet tall, she’d lowered a step out of the window on to the roof to get down but when she got back in she couldn’t reach the step to get that back in.
There then followed what resembled a very low budget version of the Generation Game where I tried hooking the step up with two walking sticks (dismal failure), then had to get out of the window on to the roof, collect the step from where I’d knocked it with the sticks and then try to get back through the window. Given that I am bigger than Tess and my knee joints aren’t as flexible as they were, this was, apparently, quite an undignified and amusing sight! Fortunately, none of the neighbours seemed to be watching.
We were sufficiently restored to mange an afternoon walk, where the shapes and shadows of this wisteria on a wall caught my eye
