Pink Bicycle Girl

Greece day 2

Athens to Isthmia. As it was only 42 miles, we had a slow start. But disaster, I got a big cut in my back tyre. Repaired, but it was a worry at the start of a trip, so found a fab bike shop with lots of pink accessories! But only a new tyre bought!  Quite a delay but we were off! Cycling through Athens was good fun. We caught  a little ferry to the island of Salamina, which we peddled across and got another ferry back to the mainland.  The riding was lovely along the coast road.

With 10 miles to go we were running low on food and water, then I spotted a sort of cafe, where we hoped we might get a something. Oh it was a goldmine! Handmade Greek cakes - yum! Refuelled we were of again. Now with a mile to go we came to Corinth bridge - but it was closed - as in no bridge! With a detour of a big hill we crossed the canal further up. Wow! What an amazing piece of engineering.quite something to see. Finally made it to the swanky hotel. Buffet dinner - result for 2 hungry cyclists .

I don’t like the street dogs that chase me barking their heads of! I like the ones that just stand and watch thinking I am mad!
